Misc miniatures- painting

Sometimes, you paint miniatures without a project in mind. You're visiting a city or a website and you see an unusual miniature and tell yourself it would be a great idea or fun to paint.

This is their stories.

The first one is a CPModel, Plague Doctor

The next miniature is a Pit Beast, from Urban Mammoth. From the Gladiator faction.

Here comes the Sumo gang

The beauty in confinement is that you start taking to much time looking at your miniatures and sometimes, talking to them.

I'd say, in rare occasion, they reply back, but usually after glasses of whisky (to drink with moderation of course).

I had a group of Urban War triad sumo telling me it should be great to be painted. And I agreed.

They came in a single VHS box, with 6 of them.

One of the club guy (tetsubo) was coming in double. I cut the hand and replaced it with an ork axe I had in my bits box.

Une figurine pour Emie. A miniature for Emie

kindness has no border.
La gentillesse n'a pas de frontière.
Emie, even here in Hong Kong we heard of you.
Emie, même ici à Hong Kong, nous avons entendu parlé de toi.
Of course, here, we see you Emie as a fearless girl, facing her sickness onboard your mech.
Bien sûr, vu d'ici, on se représente Emie comme un fille sans peur qui fait face à la maladie à bord de son mécha.

To be honest, for such a task I was helped by my wingwoman, my cuttest painter.
En toute honnêteté, j'ai dû demander de l'aide à ma plus mignonne peintre.

Work in Progress...

Fresh from the bench: Westwind Brotherhood, Viridian, Space Marine and Teutonic knights and using battlesystems

While waiting for Morikun 1,000,000-views competition, I decided to slow down on PUBG and start painting.

I have done a good progress by my standard, by painting the whole Brotherhood gang I planned to use for EoD or Dracula's America.
Brotherhood Boss - Road Kill from Westwind, perfect for any period
EoD Brotherhood - Cool minis, not much needed to trim

The miniatures are very characterful and dynamic
They are all grey beards, because they have nothing to lose
Long time ago, while trying to revive my Space Crusade board, I bought a Space Marine apothecary. I have finally finished him off, and he is ready to join his friends.
I have decided to go for a more crude visual on the armor than the usual space marine
His job is to butcher gene seed, not to be the prettiest of all

The Viridian (here) had a girl pilot, likely because women can do multiple things at the same time. I didn't have the mood in the past to paint her, and she has been painted over the past 12 month.
Finally, here she is.

And here are the Teutons. Perfect for paladin, or any fantasy setting. Cutting the metal base was a pain, and after 1 test, I decided to keep them like this and paint the base darker, as if it is their shadow.

We worked also on structure with the kids, using their units of inquiries at school to make some fallout/necromunda board.
Orlosh settlement with a 1-floor, a 2-floor and a 3-floor building
The Claw Store. Vet store or pelt trader?

If it is fallout, here is the way to the Vault
Any settlement should get their table and chairs for chilling out.
Arm dealer, mandatory
A good weapon is a heavy weapon

We added a tower to help protecting the settlement.

w40k 8th Edition

Late August, we tried the 8th version of Warhammer 40k at home. Small table, small forces, big fun.
I took out of their box my inquisitorial army and fielded them against a bunch of Space Marines who pretended to be better.
Who won?

Inquisition is gathering, they are protecting the Mighty Coffee Maker

This Dark Angel are weird, they look very whity

My left side. Nice to field the Battle Systems terrain
The right side. The Police station, and some crates

Thereafter, I forgot to take pictures. Only some deployment and the last action.

I always loved the Junker (Urban Mammoth) and they look cooler surrounded by Battle Systems terrain

The Adeptus Mechanicus is covering Coteaz

The Crusaders are the MVPs.
Feedback:
The terrain was small, which favored Closed Combat.
The Dark Angel had little firepower
8th is fun and very easy to play. Finally, back to basic.
