kill team 2021 game 4

"Scouting parties of the Tau, Space Marines and Eldars went to investigate a strange call for help from an old prospection station. Unknown to them, Tyranids have burrowed beneath the settlement. Just before the attack, the defenders readied themselves in an unusual alliance."

Another game of Kill Team for 2021.

This time, co-op game with 3 players vs. game-controlled tyranid waves.

60 pts force per player, 6 entry points for the tyranids. Game: Disabling the entry points.

To disable an entry point a model must spend the whole turn doing nothing. Tyranid always have initiative. Every turn, we roll 2 dice to randomly select 2 entry points, and roll for the tyranid force.

Goal: survive

Sadly, no photos toward the end. In summary, the Scorpions played the firefighter role, rushing and assisting melee whenever they could, killing genestealers. The losses of the defenders were minimum and the last holes secured by having 1 model destroying it while genestealer were fighting escort.
We survived!

Painting updated - many unknown brands painted :-)

As life event forced me to take a long rest, I used this opportunity to paint some miniatures. This was also a time where I discovered models I had completely forgot about.

Here are some of the latest addition to my pile of painted models.

First of all, a 3D printed miniature of Deux, a leprechaun for the game Agone. Deux (means Two in French) is a wildness dweller and has a limited understanding of clothing. One of the particularity of Deux is to travel with a small bag containing 2 unused underwears and being very particular that everybody should have 2 underwear available, just in case.

Next is an evil master for Weird World War 2

Next are some commanders from Games Workshop. Painted with Navy colors in mind, they can be used for objectives or any story. The miniature in the middle is supposed to be a tank commander, so it had no legs. I added legs from spare WW2 Russian miniatures I had.

For my birthday I received from my friends GW terrain

Mantic gave casualties in their dwarf armies. I had limited use for them, but I found they looked perfect as tomb markers.

And 2 additional dwarves got painted to join the army I painted earlier. One of them look like a junior chief, ready to split some heads in 2.

Next some unknown miniatures, where I have no idea where I bought them and when. They look like the Bugs Bunny Martian.

Moving on, Prince August Tribes of Terra, the Templar horde. I broke one of them at the foot level, so instead of 4, there are 3. Perfect the day I play some fallout or post apo type of game.

Another unknown. An android looking killer. Faceless and deadly.
The silver of her face did not really render good on the picture though.

During the Easter vacation I outsourced 2 viridian miniatures (Urban Mammoth) to the kids.
My son went for a camo based sniper.

My daughter went for a commander and very neat painting.

A Void miniature, before it became Urban War. A big sword, likely to compensate for a small brain.

Last, some Westwind Night Ranger, from their Road Kill range, Nice models with a decent level of details.

Kill Team 2021 Game 3

In a world full of surprises, we forgot the terrain.

the game was a 125pts, Elite allowed.
The Necrons vs the Space Marines.

We rolled for the scenario 1d20 on the kill team compendium and got the scenario the Cull.
As we never played it, we decided to go for it.

The board was a simple map, with the defender deploying half of his team in the middle and the attacker deploying in each corners.
The SM team, space wolf team with many company veterans.
the fateful 50% deployed in the middle
surrounded by a Melee-only Necron force
Turn 1, one Necron reached the SM. how long the SM will last?
The SM specialised in melee died amd the rest of the SM are fighting with their knives
The flamer attacked the necron leader, same as the others, knife vs flayed one
on the last turn (no picture), the flamer took out of action one necron, while the rest the team died. The non melee specialists of the the SM survived 3 turns, while the SM melee specialist died on the first fight.
Necron victory.

On a side note, the scenario mentioned the reinforcement of the space marines can arrive in their deployment area, as long as not within 9 inch of an enemy, which is physically impossible on this map. So for the whole scenario I was actually playing with only 50% of my army, not the funniest game.
In conclusion, DONT PLAY The CULL scenario for Kill Team
