Kill Team 2021 Game 3

In a world full of surprises, we forgot the terrain.

the game was a 125pts, Elite allowed.
The Necrons vs the Space Marines.

We rolled for the scenario 1d20 on the kill team compendium and got the scenario the Cull.
As we never played it, we decided to go for it.

The board was a simple map, with the defender deploying half of his team in the middle and the attacker deploying in each corners.
The SM team, space wolf team with many company veterans.
the fateful 50% deployed in the middle
surrounded by a Melee-only Necron force
Turn 1, one Necron reached the SM. how long the SM will last?
The SM specialised in melee died amd the rest of the SM are fighting with their knives
The flamer attacked the necron leader, same as the others, knife vs flayed one
on the last turn (no picture), the flamer took out of action one necron, while the rest the team died. The non melee specialists of the the SM survived 3 turns, while the SM melee specialist died on the first fight.
Necron victory.

On a side note, the scenario mentioned the reinforcement of the space marines can arrive in their deployment area, as long as not within 9 inch of an enemy, which is physically impossible on this map. So for the whole scenario I was actually playing with only 50% of my army, not the funniest game.
In conclusion, DONT PLAY The CULL scenario for Kill Team

kill team 2021 game 2

With the ease of Covid-19 fear, we lined up one more game at a friend's office, we managed to play one more  Kill Team game. This time a 1v1v1v1.

An old Ork settlement in a wasteland of Necron's artifacts

Mission: Get point for every model killed in melee.

Top left, Taus, Top Right Grey Knughts, Bottom Left Necrons, Bottom Right Space Marines

The picture has a deep shadow as we had not dimmed the light from the window
The GK, 5 models, but very very scary in melee/
The Tau. Using cover and drones hovering above
The Necrons sent their flayed ones against the Marines, while their shooters engaged the Taus
Tau vs Necron. The Stealth Suit are very tough and ok in close combats
The Space Marines and the Necrons are struggling to get a decisive strike
the GK, surprisingly, decided to hold their position for 1 turn, only shooting across the board. Everybody was wondering what the GK were up to
The Tau drones take a significant beating
Tactical Space Marines fights the Flayed Ones, protecting the better equipped troopers.
As usual, the SM officer, full geared with Melee skills and weapons will fail miserably
Holding the horde. Even wounding Flayed One with knives while their leader died without dealing any damages.

As the GK decided to attack the Tau, the Tau leaders and shooter started to take cover
Necrons and Steal Suits are engaged in melee
The SM and Flayed Ones melee got a surprising turn of events
The SM cleared the Flayed One with rifle butts and knives. Who could have guessed?
The SM rushed to the Tau/Necron area to get points
The GK are crushing the Tau who broke and most units became Shaken
The Necron try to take the full benefits of the Tau's demise. unsucessfully though
The last Flayed One get mobbed by Space Marines

Results. The GK won by massacring the Taus, the Necron failed to get melee kills, and the Space Marines bring Necron' bodies back home as trophies.

Space Marines vs Necrons vs Grey Knights

the Space Marine bottom right, Grey Knights on the left and Necron on the top.

Space Marine advanced, covered by the Heavy Bolter (Sniper) supported by a tactical marine with com'

Standard GK force, 5 dudes with 1 flamer and 1 psycho cannon

Necron moved with flayed ones in front

For the Emperor!

GK are living under the bridge.

Necron are providing cover fire to their flayed ones

SM and Necrons are on the path of melee. The GK are avoided

The 3 sides meet in melee to hold objectives

The game ended on a victory of the Space Marines for holding 1 objectives whole all others are contested.

Kill Team - Campaign Day 1 - Battle 2 () Battle Report

Day 1...
As the battle rages on the moon, Grey Knights, Orks, Space Marines and Necrons face each others on the ground of an abandoned station. Decimated by the Necron artifacts, the colonists left.
Re-settled by Orks, they were slaughtered during the latest battles in the area.

Now, for reason that only the fog of war can bring, enemies are facing each other. Only escaping while taking out opponents seems to be the most reasonable option.

The mission:
- kill any enemy: 1vp
- exit through opposite enemy territory with the said enemy broken

the Grey Knight. Always by 2 they come

The Necrons
the Orks

the Space Marines
During scouting phase, only the Space Marines were able to place 3 hidden bombs, shown as below.

turn 1
the Space Marines take position to protect themselves from the Necrons
the 4 Necrons gather to obliterate the Space Marines
The deadly Necrons are moving forward

the GK take position within the base

the GK will move at the gate, ready to fight the Orks

Guess who is hiding?

but the Orks are ignoring the Grey Knigths and try to flank the Necrons

Turn 1 : placement. The SM did not move. All shots did not injured

Turn 2: the Orks continue their move

the Necrons are closing in

the Space Marines avoid the confrontation and slip away
The shots were ineffective, again

 Turn 3
The Grey Knight moved to intercept the Necrons

Facing the deadly Necrons, the Grey Knight stood

the Necrons readied the final push

the Orks hid before rushing the Necrons, when....

the Orks realised they were outflanked by the Space Marines, forcing them to re-deploy

If the Orks did not re-deploy, the Space Marines had a free passage

Panoramic view
Nobody died. A Necron survived a deadly shot by regenerating itself.

 turn 4:
the Orks tried to hold the Space Marines
As the Orks re-deployed, a Grot set himself as the perfect target. The Space Marines killed it, giving a precious point to the Space Marines. The only one point of the game.

We rolled for the 5th turn and got a "2", end of mission.
Victory of the Space Marines, with 1 point.
